TGNN Past & Present
MEET THE STAFF
The Good News Network (TGNN) located in Baltimore, Maryland. Founded by two communications alumni from Morgan State University. TGNN now has a small staff that is comprised of faculty, students and alumni from Morgan State, and two graduates from Coppin State University. With an emphasis on community, truth, and entertainment, TGNN produces The Good News, which is a news and entertainment television program that highlights positive people, places, music, and organizations in Baltimore. We felt it necessary to start a media organization like this to spread uplifting and informative news amongst the current overload of adverse television news.
We aired two episodes the summer of 2009 on the MGM movie and family based cable channel called THIS-TV. In the Baltimore demographic, THIS-TV is channel 206 on Comcast, channel 463 on Verizon Fios and broadcast channel 45-2 on WBFF. Currently THIS-TV is available in approximately 1.1 million Baltimore households.
Right now we are back in the research and development stage to learn how we can better serve the community, create new content, build our brand in the community, and raise enough funds to sustain our needs for broadcasting. Our relaunch goal is JUNE 2010 and we are very dedicated to broadcasting throughout the entire year and beyond to assist with spreading the message of positivity. We understand that it takes more than sheer drive to create change in the world which is why we are making the neccesary efforts to spread the word about TGNN and why people should make a charitable donation to help us get our plans off the ground. We understand that it takes more than sheer drive to create change in the world which is why we are asking for donations to support The Good News. This is a chance to really support positive media.

Support The Good News Network
By supporting TGNN, you assist us in covering and broadcasting stories that stimulate, enrich, and enhance the Baltimore community which we believe will lead to a higher morale in the city and the surrounding areas. We also offer membership to any form of business or organization, which allows that entity to obtain media and television production services for a discounted price. This allows starting businesses or any form of organization the opportunity to compete with other organizations that are established and well funded in the realm of marketing. Also TGNN provides recent graduates and current college students the opportunity to gain experience in the field of Mass Media through service-learning, internship and entry level positions, and placing them with a position that best fits their academic concentration.
The idea of synergy runs deep with in our bylaws and principals. After the first year of continuous broadcasting we plan to implement what will become an annual networking event for all TGNN members. This event will give the members opportunities to obtain legal advice, digital designs (for any use), photo head shots, 15 second commercials, networking and much more. The purpose of this event is to strengthen the knowledge and capability of our community partners through synergistic business solutions. If we come together and think creatively instead of competitively we all will benefit from the outcome.
Although we are based in Baltimore, we plan to implement this ideology of positive media through the TGNN platform nationwide. However we must start somewhere and Baltimore is a great city to begin. We realize that positive change is possible and that no matter the magnitude of an idea, a vision can be obtained.
Remember. "The Good News."Because good things still happen.
